Joe Biden Just Said What Everyone Else Wanted To About Alleged Hollywood Perv Harvey Weinstein

In a breath of fresh air, former Vice President Joe Biden condemned disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein for his sexual misconduct allegations.

Harvey Weinstein, one-half of the brother duo that built the Weinstein Company, has probably had a thumbprint on every major movie you’ve enjoyed in the last few decades. Gangs of New York? Shakespeare in Love? The English Patient? Any of these ringing a bell? Pulp Fiction? Even Ella Enchanted had his name under the “Executive Producer” credit.

And he was sexually harassing women in the industry the entire time. Kate Beckinsale, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Barth and Gwyneth Paltrow are only a few of the female celebrities that have shared their stories in the past few days about being personally affronted by Weinstein.

Which brings us to Biden. While accepting the 2017 Courage Award on Wednesday night from the New York City Anti-Violence Project, a non-profit fighting to end violence against members of the LGBTQ community, he called out Weinstein’s “disgusting behavior” and spoke about the bravery of the women coming forward to topple the mogul.

“Because of the bravery of so many courageous women speaking up, putting their careers at risk to save other women from similar abuse, this disgusting behavior ― at least on the part of Harvey Weinstein ― has been brought to an abrupt and justifiable end,” Biden said. “It is long past time for the powerful men in Hollywood to speak up. To be strong enough to say something. Because silence is complicity.”

Thank you former Vice President Joe Biden, for adding your monumental voice in speaking out against Weinstein and for being an advocate for women and members of the LGBTQ community.
