Adam Schiff Has Laid Down The Gauntlet For Trump On Mueller Investigation: We Are Going To Share This Information With The Public

It now seems like an age ago that we first started to have suspicions about the connections between President Donald Trump’s White House and the government of Russia. It was nearly two years ago that the Justice Department commissioned former Director of the FBI Robert S. Mueller to be a Special Counsel and set up a probe to investigate claims that the campaign to elect then Republican candidate Donald Trump as President of the United States colluded with Russian state actors in order to steal the election result from rival Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and then committed obstruction of justice afterwards in a desperate attempt to cover it up.

Now, though, people are starting to get frustrated with Mueller, since he has still not published his findings and Trump is still our President. Writing to newly confirmed Attorney General Bill Barr, some senior House Democrats penned a strongly worded letter making their feelings known about any attempts he might be considering to block the publication:

“After nearly two years of investigation — accompanied by two years of direct attacks on the integrity of the investigation by the president — the public is entitled to know what the Special Counsel has found,” the letter reads. “We write to you to express, in the strongest possible terms, our expectation that the Department of Justice will release to the public the report Special Counsel Mueller submits to you — without delay and to the maximum extent permitted by law.”

Adam Schiff has been one of those Democrats who has throughout been supporting Mueller and his investigation, but he recently changed his tune quite dramatically when he went live on ABC:

“We will obviously subpoena the report. We will bring Bob Mueller in to testify before Congress. We will take it to court if necessary. In the end I think the [Justice] Department understands they’re going to have to make this public. I think [Attorney General William] Barr will ultimately understand that as well.”

ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos asked, “Are you prepared to take the administration to court?”

“Absolutely. We are going to get to the bottom of this. We are going to share this information with the public,” Schiff said. “And if the president is serious about all his claims of exoneration, then he should welcome the publication of this report.”

That’s right. Schiff just threatened to force Mueller to testify himself if he does not give Trump what he deserves by making the report public. Good on you, Adam.
