Condoleezza Rice On Trump: I Can No Longer Support This Administration

President Donald Trump has a remarkable talent for uniting people against him. He is so shockingly awful in every conceivable way that even the most hardline Republican figures and the most loyally right wing political and media commentators are coming out in opposition to him. Big GOP names like John McCain and Mitt Romney are some of the most memorable to have abandoned their party loyalty and speak their mind about just how abysmal a President of the United States and leader of the free world that man is turning out to be.

Now, we have another name to add to the list of very big Republican names that have made their harsh criticisms of President Trump known to the world on a public platform, and this is a big one – Condoleezza Rice. That’s right – the woman who was Secretary of State under President George W. Bush and has essentially become one of the most respected voices in the entire American right has just come out to say that she no longer supports the Trump White House.

In a recent interview, Rice explained the reasoning behind her decision, and let me tell you, she did not mince her words. This is a woman who does not have time for any nonsense and is not going to put up with the kind of incompetence we have seen endlessly from the Trump White House.

“Words do matter. I hope that we will say even more that the world is a dark place when the United States of America is not involved. It’s a dark place when we don’t stand up for those who just want to have the same basic values that we have.

“We just need to remember the history here. We need to remember that we took a risk that a democratic Germany was never going to invade its neighbors again and it didn’t. We took a risk that a democratic Japan was going to be a peaceful part of Asia, and it is. And so remembering that in the long run, we are always better served by countries that share our values is extremely important, even if one day you’re having to sit across from Muammar Qaddafi, as I had to do as secretary of state. We are safest, most secure and most prosperous when our values and our interests are inextricably linked.”

Wow. If only more moderate GOP voices were brave enough to speak up like this!
