Ex Bush Advisor Comes Clean On Trump: He Won’t Be Impeached Because He’s Going To Resign

Ever since the Democrats retook control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections of November of last year, the foremost question on the lips of everyone on the Left of politics in America, and indeed around the world (and, of course, all the other sane people who object to having some racist reality star in the White House) has been: when can Trump be impeached, so that he can finally be kicked out of office? Now that the Democrats control the House, they control its committees and procedures too, which wield enormous power to launch investigations and pass motions which could be detrimental to the presidency of Donald Trump.

However, quite remarkably, it has recently emerged that Trump may not have to be impeached after all, because he could simply resign. Alan J. Steinberg is a political commentator and expert on the subject matter – he is a former senior adviser to former President George W. Bush. He has now come out publicly to say that he did not think President Trump would be impeached, but to make the surprising but fascinating prediction that he will actually voluntarily resign by the end of this year.

In an op-ed published on the NJ.com website, Steinberg outlined his reasoning behind his claim. He predicts that a “forthcoming recession” (essentially, a massive economic disaster for the whole nation) along with “abysmal” public approval ratings for the Trump presidency will result in the President making a deal with his enemies which involves him voluntarily stepping down from his pivotal role in the White House before the end of 2019, probably in a last ditch bid to avoid having criminal charges pressed against him. Steinberg writes:

“Trump will not be removed from office by the Constitutional impeachment and removal process. Instead, the self-professed supreme dealmaker will use his presidency as a bargaining chip with federal and state authorities in 2019, agreeing to leave office in exchange for the relevant authorities not pursuing criminal charges against him, his children or the Trump Organization.”

Steinberg’s other former credentials include a period as regional administrator of Region 2 of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the Bush administration, as well as executive director of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission under former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman. In other words, this guy has all the experience you could ever need and is brimming with expertise on these matters. The upshot is, he knows what he is talking about here. And he made this public statement with a huge amount of confidence, which means we can all start counting down the days until President Trump is no more!
