Fox News Just Threw Trump Directly Under The Bus Over Obstruction Of Justice On Mueller Case

Fox News has always been the safe refuge for President Donald Trump. The right wing news outlet has proven staunchly loyal to the President, so he knows that however disastrous things look for him, he can always point to the shameless propaganda on Fox News to back himself up. Throughout the two and a bit years that he has served so far in the high office of President of the United States and leader of the free world, he has repeatedly had to resort to this tactic. Except that this may no longer be possible, since Fox has broken its past trend by broadcasting a segment that brutally takes apart Trump’s case over the Mueller report and alleges that he did, in fact, commit obstruction of justice, leading him to send out this highly exasperated tweet:

“Thank you to brilliant and highly respected attorney Alan Dershowitz for destroying the very dumb legal argument of “Judge” Andrew Napolitano. Ever since Andrew came to my office to ask that I appoint him to the U.S. Supreme Court, and I said NO, he has been very hostile! Also asked for pardon for his friend. A good “pal” of low ratings Shepard Smith.”

That is a very confident and brash tweet from a man who is under the spotlight in an extremely troubling way here. Perhaps most devastatingly of all, the whole point of the tweet is moot. He sent that message out in order to draw people’s attention to Alan Dershowitz’s rebuttal of Judge Napolitano’s argument. But the problem is that Dershowtiz had nothing of value to say at all. Sure, he criticized Napolitano on a personal level, but he had no answer to the core of the argument that was being made, which makes Trump look very silly indeed. This is what Napolitano said that no one, Trump, Dershowitz or anyone else for that matter, can find an answer to:

“So, here’s the thing that people choose not to look at. The statute prohibits all attempts to interfere with the government. So, if you think you are interfering with the government. If your purpose is to interfere with the government in order to save yourself, not to help the government. Then you have committed the crime of obstruction.”

It seems like time is running out for the Trump administration. They surely cannot pretend for much longer that the then candidate and his campaign team did not commit obstruction of justice. Trump is on his way out.
