Here’s Why The White House Is Actually In Complete Panic Over Mueller Report

Published

We now find ourselves, finally, in the position we have been waiting for for longer than anyone can remember, because the Mueller report has been published (most of it, anyway). It is now well over two years ago that the Department of Justice commissioned former Director of the FBI Robert S. Mueller III to set up a probe to investigate the possibility that the 2016 campaign to elect Republican nominee Donald Trump may have colluded with Russian state actors, and possibly also committed obstruction of justice. Now, finally, that report has found its way into the public domain, after a huge amount of political pressure.

Somehow, though, President Donald Trump remains in the Oval Office. In spite of everything we have learned over the last two and a bit years and all the information contained within the Mueller report, he is still somehow serving in the high office of President of the United States and leader of the free world. It might seem at first, then, that he has gotten away with it, thanks to a lot of help from his close ally and longtime friend Attorney General Bill Barr. However, things are actually a lot worse for the Trump administration than they look at the moment.

Recent reports from insiders are revealing just how much panic there is going on behind those closed doors right now. The entire White House has been thrown into a state of flux by the publication of the Mueller report, with many senior officials sincerely terrified about what is going to happen to them and the Trump administration as a result of it:

“They got asked questions and told the truth, and now they’re worried the wrath will follow,” one former White House official said. Some of those who spoke with Mueller’s team, such as former White House counsel Don McGahn, witnessed Trump’s actions up close and were privy to key moments in the obstruction investigation and spent many hours with investigators. One person close to the White House said there is “breakdown-level anxiety” among some current and former staffers who cooperated with the investigation at the direction of Trump’s legal team at the time.

This has been a long time coming. This time of reckoning for this administration is long overdue. Surely, now that we know everything we know and the officials are clearly ill-equipped to defend themselves, it is only a matter of time before Trump is out for good.
