Joe Biden Just Shut Mitch McConnell Up For Good, Blasts Him Over Obama Era Hypocrisy

It has long been reported that the White House of former President Barack Obama actually knew in advance about some of the extremely dodgy communications between the 2016 campaign to elect President Donald Trump and Russian state actors, but was unable to voice their concerns because of the brashness of the incoming administration. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the former Director of the FBI who was commissioned by the Justice Department to investigate those allegations of collusion, is suppoedly looking into this, as well as various other aspects of the campaign to elect President Donald Trump to the White House.

This latest piece of news might just give Mueller exactly what he needs right now, and it came from a very unlikely place: former Vice President Joe Biden. There has been intense speculation that Biden may be considering running for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States next year, so no one really expected him to speak out on such a current, controversial, hot button issue. But that is exactly what he has done.

The target of Biden’s public statement was not Trump himself but another senior Republican figure who has perhaps got less attention than he is due in this whole scandal: Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell. Essentially, Biden has come out publicly to claim that McConnell is the man who was behind the efforts to silence the Obama administration on this matter. He apparently said that the former President “would sit there literally after each press briefing and say, ‘What the hell are we going to do?’”

Speaking to Richard Haas, the President of the Council on Foreign Relations, Biden said:

“Had we known what we knew three weeks later, we may have done something more. Can you imagine if the president called a press conference in October, with this fella, Bannon, and company, and said, ‘Tell you what: Russians are trying to interfere in our elections and we have to do something about it.’ What do you think would have happened? Would things have gotten better, or would it further look like we were trying to delegitimize the electoral process, because of our opponent?”

This is a quite incredible statement to make. Biden personally has a huge amount at stake here, so for him to feel that he had to come out publicly and make these claims means that this must have been pressing on his conscience for some time, and it also suggests there is substantial evidence waiting to be uncovered.
