Kellyanne Conway Puts Foot In Mouth Again And It May Send Her Directly To Prison

Scream it with me – there is going to be another investigation! Walter Shaub, once the director of the Office of Government Ethics, lodged a complaint with the United States Office of Special Council against – wait for it – White House councelor Kellyanne Conway.

Apparently, Shaub, who resigned from his director position at the OGE in July,  filed last week. He stated that Conway violated the Hatch Act, a law which prohibits federal employees from using their position of relative power from campaigning for or against a political candidate, when she made comments against Doug Jones, Alabama Democratic nominee for Sebate, who is running against Roy Moore. If you really don’t already know by now, Moore has been accused of sexual misconduct by many women in recent weeks, alleging that he tried to pick up teenage girls while in his 30s. Trump had endorsed Moore and continues to stand by him for the Senate seat.

On Tuesday, the chief of the Office of Special Counsel’s Hatch Act Unit Ana Galindo-Marrone responded to Shaub with a standard protocol notice, which said they have opened a case file to look into the complaint.

In the interview with Fox News, Conway said that Jones has a “weak” position on border protection and crime.

“I just want everybody to know Doug Jones, nobody ever says his name and they pretend that he’s some kind of conservative Democrat in Alabama and he’s not,” said Conway.

By the way, the White House has defended Conway’s comments in a statement.

I do not mean to sound happy in the wake of other’s misfortunes, that’s – improper. I only mean to say that I am looking forward to an investigation into Conway’s comments. I think it is about time she faced any sort of consequences for her words and actions over the past year. This could amount to no more than a slap on the wrist and the new knowledge of a law that we didn’t know existed, but it will have all been worth it just to watch this investigation.
