Nunes Blowing Off The Press Regarding His Bullshit Memo Shows He Is A Scam Artist

Some Republicans, including president Donald Trump, thought the Nunes memo was their reckoning when it alleged the F.B.I. played political bias, as it sought to investigate former Trump administration member Carter Page.

Instead, it became nothing more than a hype piece. Since its release, some Republicans including Paul Ryan have backed away from the memo, stating this should not be a reflection of the investigation Robert Mueller is currently conducting. What’s more, the ideas Representative Devin Nunes brings to the surface in the emails appear to be false.

The memo alleges the F.B.I. used a dossier paid in part by the Democrats as the basis for investigating Page. Yet, Time magazine shot this idea down by showing the F.B.I.’s interest in Page grew due to his business concerns. Page went to Moscow frequently for business. While there, he bragged about helping the Kremlin in 2013.

Needless to say, this doesn’t paint the Nunes memo in a good light. Recently, reporters asked Nunes about his memo and he had this exchange with them.

This isn’t the first time he shunned reporters. The Huffington Post said he moved past them in the hallway last week saying, “You’ll have to talk to the Democrats. They talk to you. I don’t.”

Aside from being a total asshole to the press, it’s apparent Nunes doesn’t want to face the music as it pertains to his memo. And this is a problem for the Republicans.

At the top of the lists of concerns is the credibility issue. You would think someone who authored a memo that could help Trump’s investigation would be more than happy to talk about it. However, this isn’t the case because he knows the memo is bullshit like everyone else does.

Nunes’ actions with the media also show a politician who doesn’t feel he has to answer for his actions. This is even worse. It’s one thing to author a turd of a memo that contains false claims based on flimsy research, it’s another to think you’re above the press and don’t have to answer questions. Nunes’ behavior is what we should focus on most. If he doesn’t bother to talk about his memo, isn’t it time we do the same?
