Putin Advisor Just Crossed Over And Said That Russia Helped Trump In The Election

It seems as though we can’t go a day without hearing about the latest development in special council Robert Mueller’s special investigation into Russia’s influence over the United States’ 2016 Presidential election. However, we have already spent so much time on the United States side of things, has anyone thought to cross the pond and starting asking questions? Really, only one man has the absolute, correct answer, and that would be Russian President Vladimir Putin, but PBS Frontline had the forethought to ask the next best person.

Gleb Pavlovsky spoke to Frontline back in July for a special series called “The Putin Files,” and the first episode finally aired. Pavlovsky worked in the Kremlin under both Putin’s predecessor Boris Yeltsin and his successor Dmitry Medvedev, who was hand-picked as a puppet between Putin’s two non-consecutive terms as President. Pavlovsky has had a court-side seat to Putin’s rise to power, even getting off the bench to help build the President’s media strategy, and he has no doubts about Putin’s thoughts on influencing the 2016 election.

“I don’t know who believed in America that Putin elected Trump, but Putin believed that,” said Pavlovsky. “Putin believed that, and that has become a political factor.”

Pavlovsky also said that Putin’s decision to influence the election was political as it was personal.

“He [Putin] most probably thought that Clinton would be the winning candidate, and he tried to build his propaganda accordingly. Why not help her adversaries? They will be helpful, most probably, if he gives them a helping hand.”

Aside from a confession from Putin himself, this is as close as we are going to get to a confession of guilt. It’s not like we all don’t think that it happened, but to now have it quasi-confirmed this by a man with knowledge of Putin, the situation, and the way the Russian government operates at large, is huge.
