Real Estate Developer Flat Out Rejects Trump’s Invitation To Help Build The Wall, Then Roasts Him: This Is Idiotic

President Donald Trump has achieved the remarkable feat of being the absolute pinnacle of the American establishment – being a real estate tycoon, running a TV show, being a billionaire – and yet getting elected as President of the United States on a staunchly anti-establishment platform. Remember “Drain The Swamp”? The result of that, in practice, is that he now has such immense power over our nation, our politics, our futures and even our everyday lives that he can basically control the news agenda (and therefore the hot button issues that everyone up and down the country is talking about) as and when he pleases.

The consequence of that is that for many weeks now, the number one topic of discussion in terms of American politics has been his laughable Border Wall project. He literally shut down the federal government in order to make sure people would just keep on talking about what he wants them to, and eventually (he hopes) give him the several billion dollars he needs in order to actually build the thing.

One of the many, many problems with this course of action is that it makes Trump into a total laughing stock among actual serious business people and politicians. What has happened recently is a case in point, and the President got pretty badly burned in a public setting. He contacted Miami real estate tycoon Jorge Perez – a fellow billionaire – to ask him to put his property development skills to use and help him to cost, design and build a Wall to go along the southern border with Mexico. The response he got was not what he or anyone else expected, and it surely made him gasp. Here is how Perez responded to the idea of helping with then Wall:

“The wall is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever seen or heard in my life. A wall for what? You think a wall is going to stop people that are hungry? Good employment in Mexico, economic growth in Mexico, equality is going to stop people from coming over the border.”

Wow! Trump did not see that coming.

erez was himself raised by Cuban parents in Colombia and has since relocated to the United States (and become immensely successful) so this was clearly a terrible tactic decision for Trump to make on a number of levels. Unsurprisingly, the White House declined to comment on the matter. How much longer can this incompetent government continue?
