School Administrator Suspended After Sending Sick Message To Daniels Lawyer Michael Avenatti

The head administrator of a prestigious private school in Arlington, Texas, was suspended indefinitely after he sent a vulgar message to Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing adult actress Stormy Daniels.

Avenatti shared the private message that was sent from Butch Groves, the head administrator of the Upper School at The Oakridge School in Arlington. Groves had written to Avenatti, “You are a f***ing douche bag. You lying piece of s***.”

The lawyer posted screenshots of Groves’s message to him, as well as a screenshot of Groves’s Twitter profile and the profile page of the school he worked at. Groves has since deleted his social media account.

“I have never met him before or communicated with him but here is his message to me” from Groves on Sunday night, Avenatti wrote. “The parents of Oakridge must be so proud to have this man teaching their sons and daughters.”

Responding to the images that Avenatti shared to his hundreds of thousands of followers, the Oakridge School lead administrator of all schools, Jon Kellam, released a statement detailing how they had put Groves on indefinite suspension pending an investigation of his conduct.

The Oakridge School has clear policies in place regarding online and face-to-face communications. Oakridge employees are expected to maintain the respect, dignity and professionalism that is consistent with our mission. Mr. Groves’ conduct was unacceptable and inconsistent with these policies and standards. I have therefore suspended Mr. Groves indefinitely as we conclude our investigation.

Eddie Reeves, a social media consultant who helps companies create posts that avoid controversy in Dallas, commented to the CBS affiliate in the area that Groves’s choice isn’t an uncommon one, unfortunately.

“Something happens between keyboard and brain,” Reeves said. “People take leave of their senses.”

At this point, it’s unclear what the future holds for Groves. His indefinite suspension could be lifted, and he could return to his job — then again, his inappropriate action could land him a pink slip as well.
