Search Warrant Released, Trump Confirmed Under Investigation Having Offices Raided For Money Laundering

President Donald Trump is, in many ways, the perfect person to be in the Oval Office because he appears to have no moral problems whatsoever with committing crimes and doing generally awful things for his own ends. He surely committed countless financial crimes during his years as a businessman and mogul – he inherited billions from his father yet declared bankrptucy six times, no less. And of course during his short time in politics so far, he has already found himself being investigated for collusion with Russia and various other terrible offenses.

It should not be a huge surprise to anyone, then, that he seems to have been doing some money laundering on the side too. This is hugely embarrassing for anyone with any kind of public profile, let alone a sitting President of the United States and leader of the free world. If he were a normal person who cared about what people think, he would be feeling indescribably humiliated right now. But of course, he does not behave like the rest of us.

Leaked documents have revealed that people with very close ties to Donald Trump, the White House, the Trump Organization and other members of the Trump family are having their offices raided as police look for evidence on cases to do with money laundering. In simple terms, the accountants and people who manage Trump’s money are under investigation for all the terrible things they have been doing with it:

Federal authorities raided the office of Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy last summer, seeking records related to his dealings with foreign officials and Trump administration associates, according to a sealed search warrant obtained by ProPublica. Agents were authorized to use the megadonor’s hands and face to unlock any phones that required fingerprint or facial scans.

The sealed warrant offers new details of federal authorities’ investigation of allegations that Broidy had attempted to cash in on his Trump White House connections in dealings with foreign officials. It also shows that the government took a more aggressive approach with the Trump ally than was previously known, entering his office and removing records — just as it did with Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

That’s right – the blow this deals to Trump and the White House could be of the same volume as the one dealt by Michael Cohen and his explosive testimony. This is big, even though it has not got much news coverage, thanks to the Trump and Murdoch controlled right wing media.
