House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy (SC-04) slammed the Trump administration Tuesday over of the ongoing Russia controversy. Gowdy sarcastically suggested that officials need to get checked for amnesia about any contacts with Russia.

Rep. Gowdy told Fox News, “Someone close to the president needs to get everyone connected with that campaign in a room and say: From the time you saw ‘Doctor Zhivago’ until the moment you drank vodka with a guy named Boris, you list every single one of those, and we are going to turn them over to the special counsel. Because this drip, drip, drip is undermining the credibility of this administration.”

Gowdy was asked whether it’s illegal to speak with a foreign national who you believe will turn over opposition research on a candidate. Mr. Gowdy noted that determining the legality is not the job of Congress, nor the York Times. He explained that the special counsel, headed up by Robert Mueller, will have jurisdiction.

He also expressed frustration that the Russia issue’s domination of the news cycle continues to dominate the headlines. Gowdy said, “There is a political component to it, which is: Here you are in mid-July asking me about Russia, and it’s not your fault that you’re doing it, but that’s how another week is starting here, so that’s a political concern,” he said. “You’re not here to ask me about infrastructure or tax reform or anything about that.”

Gowdy said “somebody needs to sit everybody down” and find out what happened. He noted that investigating this matter does not fall to him but to the special counsel, headed up by Robert Mueller.

Ever the one to troll the Dems about Hillary and her emails, it’s really nice to see Gowdy go after the truly evil ones here.
