Trump Brags About North Korea Not Being A Threat Anymore, Proven Wrong By His Own Intelligence Team

We all know that Trump and his administration work in a harmonious symphony of misinformation and general deflection. There was no better example of this than how the White House, Senate, and formerly GOP run House worked together to say that America has been a driving force in the denuclearization of North Korea. We know that to not be true, now, and it came from inside the Trump administration itself.

President Trump has gone as far as literally saying, “The sanctions are on. The missiles have stopped. The rockets have stopped. The hostages are home.” Clearly that is incorrect.

According to the New York Times, there are several (over a dozen actually), secret missile bases that were detected by Trump’s own intelligence, proving without a doubt, that everything he’s said about NK up to this point has been a fantasy.

From the times:

orth Korea is moving ahead with its ballistic missile program at 16 hidden bases that have been identified in new commercial satellite images, a network long known to American intelligence agencies but left undiscussed as President Trump claims to have neutralized the North’s nuclear threat.

The satellite images suggest that the North has been engaged in a great deception: It has offered to dismantle a major launching site — a step it began, then halted — while continuing to make improvements at more than a dozen others that would bolster launches of conventional and nuclear warheads.

This is in stark contrast to the “work” Trump has done with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Many GOP Trump supporters have gone as far as saying that Trump should be given the nobel peace prize for his work with the secluded, insular country. Personally, I beg to differ.

The Times goes on to state the in one aspect of Trump’s statement, he is actually correct. If we’re only looking at missile test blasts, then yes they have halted that. For now.

But one must wonder why these other bases exist at all. It couldn’t be to ramp up for other potential nuclear missile launches could it? Nah, of course not. End sarcasm here.

The real question is what will happen next. With North Korea going behind everyones back literally all of the time, being insular and wild in nature, and not adhering to any peace treaties in full,  no one can really be certain what Un and his devoted followers will do.

The only thing we do know is that Trump’s own intelligence within his administration is proving him wrong on his assertions that he’s making inroads with NK. I think that holding Trump accountable for his words, however false they may be, is the best shot we have to continue to monitor and keep track of NK as best we can. This entire saga is far from over. I’m glad we still have sane people in the Washington intelligence community willing to say Trump is wrong.
