Trump Causes White House Chaos By Trying To Get Jared Kushner Security Clearance

The amount of problems in the White House of President Donald Trump is breath taking. During the barely two years that he has held the position of President of the United States and leader of the free world, Trump has gone through at least a decade’s worth of employees. His senior officials always seem desperate to get out of there as fast as they possibly can.

A big part of the reason for that might be the people he has brought into the administration with him. For example, Donald Trump created a whole new position of First Daughter for Ivanka Trump, for no apparent reason, and then hired her inexperienced husband Jared Kushner as a senior adviser, close aide, powerful official and a whole bunch of other senior titles, in a move that clearly stinks of nepotism and corruption.

One of the more embarrassing aspects of the reporting surrounding this issue has been the allegation that Kushner has been unable to get a security clearance for the White House, which is equal parts crushing and hilarious. However, new reports are suggesting that Trump has caused a massive stir in the White House by his repeated attempts to push the documents through, especially with former Chief of Staff John Kelly:

U.S. President Donald Trump ordered his chief of staff in May to grant his son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner a top-secret security clearance, the New York Times reported on Thursday. It said senior administration officials were troubled by the decision, which prompted then White House Chief of Staff John Kelly to write an internal memo about how he had been ordered to give Kushner the top-secret clearance.

The White House counsel at the time, Donald McGahn, also wrote an internal memo outlining concerns raised about Kushner and how McGahn had recommended against the decision, it said. The Times said the memos contradicted a statement made by Trump in an interview with the newspaper in January that he had no role in Kushner’s receiving his clearance.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, when asked about the issue: “We don’t comment on security clearances.” How convenient.

Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for Abbe Lowell (an attorney of Jared Kushner) was more willing to talk. He said that Kushner’s security clearance had been “handled in the regular process with no pressure from anyone.” He continued: “New stories, if accurate, do not change what was affirmed at the time.”

That is a creative interpretation of what has just been revealed, to say the least.
