Trump Hate Tweeted A Beloved Public Figure And Got A Response He Wasn’t Expecting

If there is one thing President Donald Trump enjoys doing even more than sexually assaulting women, physically assaulting journalists, peddling Russian propaganda or simply casually running our country into the ground, it is going on Twitter, making up stupid nicknames for people he does not like and starting nonsensical and juvenile online spats with often much loved celebrities and public figures. It is truly unbelievable how far removed this kind of behavior is from what we should actually expect from the President of the United States and leader of the free world.

One of those unfortunate people who has found themselves on the receiving end of the ridiculous online ire (almost always via tweet) is the great Oprah Winfrey. It is obvious that someone like Trump was always going to hate someone like Oprah – a xenophobic misogynist like him is always going to be a little perturbed by a strong, multi talented and all round brilliant black woman like Oprah. However, in this specific case it is even worse, because Winfrey is an unashamed Democrat and has repeatedly and brutally shut down the President and his horrendous policies in public. So, as you might expect, the President if utterly furious.

In his usual immature style, he decided that the best way to deal with this was to try to lay into her in a clumsy tweet. So, that is exactly what he did:

“Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”

There was just one problem. Trump had completely under estimated his opponent. It was not long before Oprah had had enough. So, she went on live TV and told him, totally honestly, what she thinks of him through her conversation with Ellen DeGeneres:

“When you do 60 Minutes, you sit in a room with at least seven other people who critique the piece before you air it…So, they critique every word and is this fair – you have this whole panel of people looking at whether it was fair…I was working very hard to do the opposite of what I was hate-tweeted about, so, it’s okay.”

This is the direct opposite of what Trump was expecting, and it is exactly what we wanted to hear from Oprah. More of this, please!
