Trump Just Admitted He Was Wrong On The Border Wall With Mexico

White House aide Kellyanne Conway told reporters, “Trump discovered there doesn’t need to be a physical wall along the entire border.” She elaborated with, “What’s true is after conferring with the experts who are involved in this process–the president discovered that part of it will be, he knows, part of it will be the physical wall, part of it is better technology, part of it is also fencing.”

Apparently, there will also be the American Gladiators at security checkpoints you’ll have to wrestle with to get into the country. All kidding aside, Conway delve further into Trump’s reasoning.

“There are rivers involved, I’m told. There are mountains involved–there’s terrain that isn’t conducive to building an actual physical structure in some places.”

Here’s a wild thought: don’t you think you would take into account an area’s topography before announcing plans for a wall that wouldn’t work because there’s rivers and stuff there? Again, this shows a president who’s wanting to make something happen without any insight into the area, hence the pivot on the entire Southern border receiving a wall.

Trump continues to emphasize funding for the Wall, the fence, the lasers, or whatever else they’re going to use has to be part of the immigration process. When judge William Alsup continued renewals for the DACA program, Trump said. “As I made very clear today, our country needs the security of the Wall on the Southern Border, which must be part of any DACA approval.”

Considering Trump used his idea of building a wall as a huge part of his campaign agenda, it’s smart he won’t deviate from it. However, now that they’re discovering some of the regions affected by this proposal have “water and stuff” he’s beginning to change how the perimeter would work.

Further, with a staggering cost of an estimated $70 billion to build the wall and another $150 million to maintain it, according to the New York Times, this might be a clever out that allows the administration to build it for much less money.
