Trump Still Refusing To Release His Tax Returns, California’s Newest Response Is Pure Perfection

President Donald Trump is still flat out refusing to publish his tax returns, and people are getting fed up. This recent report might just mark the end for Trump:

The California Legislature is trying again to force presidential candidates to publicly disclose their tax returns. The state Senate voted 27-10 on Thursday to require anyone appearing on the state’s presidential primary ballot to publicly release five years’ worth of income tax returns. The proposal is in response to Trump, who bucked 40 years of tradition by refusing to release his tax returns prior to his election in 2016. California’s presidential primary is scheduled for March 3. If the bill becomes law, Trump could not appear on the state’s primary ballot without filing his tax returns with the California secretary of state.

We believe that President Trump, if he truly doesn’t have anything to hide, should step up and release his tax returns,” said Sen. Mike McGuire, a Democrat from Healdsburg and the co-author of the bill along with Sen. Scott Wiener, a San Francisco Democrat. All 10 Republicans in the state Senate voted against the bill, arguing it is unconstitutional. “I get that playing the resistance card may be good politics for the majority party, but I would submit that it’s bad policy for Californians,” Sen. Brian Jones said. McGuire noted the chief ethics lawyers for former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama say the bill is constitutional.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, he failed to explain exactly how this constituted a “bad policy for Californians”. Taking a classically Trumpian approach to things, the Republicans involved in this case offered no explanation whatsoever for why on Earth a presidential candidate such as Donald Trump should not have to disclose his tax returns just like anyone else. Going forward to the presidential election scheduled for the tail end of next year, there is plenty of reason to be optimistic.

If Trump feels he has no choice but to publish his tax returns, then we will finally get to see whatever horros he has been so desperate to hide up until this point, which will surely be enough for the American public to vote him out of the Oval Office once and for all. And if he continues to refuse to do that, then it seems like he will find himself barred from standing as a candidate in the key state of California, which will push his already bleak electoral chances off a cliff. In other words, we now can look forward to Trump’s exit and four years of a Blue President!
