Trump Tried To Defend Himself But Only Made Himself Look Even More Guilty

President Donald Trump is not at all good at being diplomatic. He is possibly the least diplomatic senior politician in recent memory, and a huge amount of his conduct is clearly not the appropriate way for a President of the United States and leader of the free world to behave. A case in point is the way he uses Twitter. First off, there is a question mark over whether a senior leader like him should be using social media in a personal capacity anyway. But even so, Trump takes misuse of social media to a whole new level with his shockingly ill judged tweets which embarrass America on the world stage.

Perhaps what is worst of all is when he makes things unnecessarily more difficult for himself simply by expressing his anger through his tweets. Take, for example, the Mueller report. Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent an enormous amount of time investigating allegations of collusion and obstruction of justice and putting together a highly detailed report which had the potential to take Trump down and utterly destroy his presidency, only for Trump crony Attorney General Bill Barr to completely butcher it with a totally misrepresentative so-called summary of it and then bury it away for no one to see.

Trump, being as powerful as he is within the right wing establishment, had done incredibly well to get away with that. But it wasn’t long before he went and shot himself in the foot by going onto Twitter and shouting at people:

I have not read the Mueller Report yet, even though I have every right to do so. Only know the conclusions, and on the big one, No Collusion. Likewise, recommendations made to our great A.G. who found No Obstruction. 13 Angry Trump hating Dems (later brought to 18) given two years and $30 million, and they found No Collusion, No Obstruction. But the Democrats, no matter what we give them, will NEVER be satisfied. A total waste of time. As @FrankLuntz has just stated, “Enough, America has had enough. What have you accomplished. Public is fed up.”

That paragraph is made up of two tweets that Trump sent on this topic that day alone, but we could have chosena  load more. This is not the behavior of a person who is innocent. This is the behavior of someone who knows for sure that there is damning evidence out there and is profoundly terrified that it might get out because he knows it would bring him down once and for all.
