Watch Paul Ryan Melt Down On Live TV Trying To Cover For Trump’s Embarrassing New Ad

Trump’s campaign team released a commercial aimed at starting the ball rolling for reelection Monday. A little early in my opinion, seeing as though he just completed his first year in office with a stunning, Republican controlled government shutdown, along with a slew of other problems he has created over the last 365 days. Anyway.

The commercial is exactly what one would expect from the Trump campaign, blaming the Democrats and blatantly lying to their audience. Take a look for yourself:

Lovely. And what does our Speaker of the House Paul Ryan have to say about all this? Basically nothing. On MSNBC’s Morning Joe Monday, Joe Scarborough asked Ryan whether or not Democrats are in fact complicit to every murder committed by illegal immigrants, what the commercial’s message contains, and Ryan’s was less than stellar.

“Well they’re certainly not helping us keeping the government open,” said Ryan. “They’re certainly not helping us gaining to a solution on immigration…I’m not going to comment, I just saw that. I don’t know if that’s necessarily productive. It’s no secret the president has strong views on immigration.”

Scarborough later attacked Ryan’s answers and questioned how long he can possibly allow this as though he does not understand the implication of the President’s message.

“You have got Donald Trump’s campaign saying that Democrats are going to be responsible for murders, and he’s saying, ‘I don’t want to talk about that?’” said Scarborough. “How long can he play dumb?”

Scarborough’s co-host, Mika Brzezinski, agreed, and called out the country for becoming “desensitized” to Trump’s antics, which ultimately blur the line between acceptable and unacceptable behavior of the President.

“I don’t know how much longer the country can take people like Paul Ryan playing dumb, putting their hands to their ears and pretending they don’t see what they see and hear what they hear,” said Brzezinski. “This will have long-lasting impacts on every level.”

Ryan seems to be unable to take a political position in any sort of opposition to the President. Even lightly chastising would be better than nothing. Any decent person understands and can vocalize that Trump’s rhetoric is damaging for the country regardless of party affiliation; obviously, Ryan has taken himself out of that category.
