Kushner was “the idiot” that lost the election over COVID testing according to Trump

When former President Donald Trump predicted he would lose the 2020 presidential election 8 months before it happened, he reportedly blamed his trusted advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner, even calling him an “idiot.”

As the COVID19 pandemic took hold in the United States, Trump reportedly yelled at Alex Azar, his Health and Human Services Secretary, “Testing is killing me!,”

A new book to be released soon, Nightmare Scenario: Inside the Trump Administration’s Response to the Pandemic That Changed History by Washington Post reporters Yasmeen Abutaleb and Damien Paletta suggests.

“I’m going to lose the election because of testing!” the book alleges Trump shouted at Azar.

Trump allegedly then questioned out loud “what idiot had the federal government” take over COVID testing.

Azar timidly responded, “Uh, do you mean Jared?”

Shortly before that phone call with Azar, Kushner “had vowed to take charge of a national testing strategy with the help of the private sector,” the book asserts.

The book comes on the heels of reports from The New York Times that Kushner recently told some of Trump’s other closest advisors that he would like “a simpler relationship” with his father-in-law.

Former Trump campaign managers Bill Stepien and Brad Parscale are still closely tied to and actively involved in Trump’s orbit, but Kushner, married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka, has taken a step back, so he can “focus on writing his book and establishing a simpler relationship” with Donald Trump.

This also leaves Donald Trump Jr., Trump’s oldest son, as the most active member of the Trump family still both in politics and Trump’s world.
